Join us for the 4th Annual Big Bear 4th of July Fun Run! Kick off the holiday with a fun trail run at Maple Hills Trails!

A fun event for the entire family. We offer 3 distances - 5K, 10K, 15K. Please note this race takes place on trails.

Event Location: Maple Hills Trails/Big Bear High School, Big Bear, CA.

We would love to have you join us as a volunteer. 

Available roles:

  • Registration

  • Aid Station Captain

  • Aid Station Volunteer

  • Finish line - medals, post-race refreshments, awards, etc.

  • Sweeper

Course Map

The Fourth of July Run will take place at the Maple Hills Trails adjacent to the Big Bear High School. Please be aware this is a trail event. The 5K can be a run or a hike!

5K course: 3.2 miles

10K course: 6.3 miles

15K course: 9.5 miles

 

  • The race will start in the Big Bear High School parking lot with a loop around the perimeter of the parking lot (asphalt) before transitioning on to the Maple Hills Trails after about 1/2 mile

  • The 10K and 15 courses will [generally] repeat the trail portion of the 5K course two and three times, respectively.

  • There will be a Water Station at approximately Mile 2.

  • The course CUTOFF TIME is 11AM. All runners must start their last loop by 10:15AM.

Stats:

  • Elevation gain: +300ft (5K-1 loop)

  • Elevation loss: -275ft (5K-1 loop)

  • The Start area is in the Parking Lot

  • It is a 5 minute walk (uphill) from the Parking Lot to the Finish line.

  • Restrooms will be located at the Start area/Parking Lot

  • Please see the map for the route and key locations

  • This is a trail run. Please no strollers or dogs on the course.

Deferral and Refund Policy
There are no refunds or transfers. Please be aware of this policy before registering.

Cancellation Policy
Should the event be cancelled due to an act of God, community disaster, fire, severe weather event, emergency, or any other issue of public safety, no refunds can or will be guaranteed. A refund percentage will be calculated to enable the organizers to cover part of the expenses incurred which cannot be recovered.
